Alan Spydell

co-Founder

Prior to forming Hive Industries, Alan worked in the operations team at Apple. He led the mechanical enclosure new product launch for the iPhone 11. He was responsible for maintaining vendor relationships, ensuring supply, and reducing overall cost. He also worked in Apple's strategic sourcing team focusing on long term vendor strategy. Between business school and Apple he joined the operations practice at McKinsey and worked as a business consultant.

At Mckinsey he focused on engagements with companies in advanced industries and energy with projects helping clients identifying cost-efficiency opportunities, designing and executing full scale transformations, effective supply chain management, exploring strategic synergies, developing corporate strategy, and R&D development acceleration. Alan started his carrier as a field engineer working for Schlumberger. He working as a hydraulic fracturing (frac) engineer throughout several oil filed in the US. After 3 years of field work he moved up to technical sales and district technical management positions. Alan received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Harvard Business School

Carlos Ramirez

CO-Founder

Carlos leads the operations team at TAPP, Inc as Chief Operating Officer. With sales over $200M and 1,600 employees, TAPP specializes in manufacturing and delivering highly engineered structural steel structures for the Transmission and Distribution industries across Canada, U.S, and Mexico. Carlos is responsible for ensuring customers received their product with the highest quality in the industry. Moreover, he played an integral role in TAPP’s sales strategy that helped it secure several projects worth over $30M, as well as TAPP’s culture initiative that together helped it maintain growth levels of 25% YOY for 3 consecutive years.

Carlos began his career in the start up space where he co-founded Incrwd, a software company that delivered interactive ads in the form of awards to engaged customers across websites. After Incrwd, Carlos joined TAPP’s operations team as Director of Operations where he was responsible for all customer facing departments including Sales, Project Management, Engineering, and Proposals. Carlos received a BA in Economics from Duke University, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
